This brief look into the future of our planet, and species, is intriguing for all that it doesn’t tell us. It’s impossible to say what will happen to us as we are an extremely unpredictable bunch, apart from our relentless greed that is.

The video doesn’t pretend to know what will happen in the distant future but speculates upon what might emerge. It does refer to plans already underway that will come to fruition in the near future. Mars colonization is one of the items on this list.

However, the further into the future we go, we find that events become too variable to predict. Environmental damage, global warming, droughts, over-population, competition for resources, war, disease, pandemics all will play a role in determining whether or not our species will survive.
