Quot libros, quam beve tempus – (so many books, so little time)
Every year multitudes of books are published across the world. Each is a window into an author’s mind. Some of those insights are beautiful, majestical, bountiful, even magical. Others are written by Clive Cussler. There are so many books out there that it can be a daunting task when selecting the one that you will chose to devote precious time to. It’s irritating to start a book only to find that it’s cac. Books are chapters of your life. Many reading this will remember where they were when they read a particular story, or what was happening in their lives. Books are like that, they can be reference points in your existence; existential bookmarks if you like.
The following is a list of 100 of the best books of this new century as selected by the Guardian newspaper. Those chosen may not be your cup of tea, but there may be one or two on there that you may have read or would like to. Rebel Voice has reviewed precisely two of those on this list. We’re not sure what that says about our book reviews. A few more than two, but not many, have been read but not reviewed. To be brutally honest, we’ve never heard of most of these books, and the top spot is one that was bypassed by us as having the appearance of a tome that would put you to sleep. Horses for courses we suppose.
