They’re big, they’re fake, they’re sweaty and they’re very, very loud. Yes, the Trump Administration is certainly a sight to behold. But so are WWE wrestlers, and it’s those guys that we’re focused on for this article.
Rebel Voice is of an age to remember British wrestling on Saturday mornings. Bobby Dazzler, Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and of course, everyone’s favourite, Cat Weasel, who looked as if he had just crawled out of a skip.
But in the USA they took the concept to extremes. It became and still is a huge business and has made global stars of many. Hulk Hogan is instantly recognisable, as is The Rock. Others are less well known outside of fans of the genre. Rebel Voice was always amused by how immersed in the wrestling bouts adults got. They really took that stuff seriously, even though everyone knows that it’s all staged and choreographed. That’s not to take away from the showmanship of the performers who really put the effort in and even bled for their wages on occasion.
The following takes us on a journey into the most famous rivalries of WWE. The question must be asked, would you want to take any of them on, even for fun? Maybe you could open up a can of whoop-ass on them?
