At one time Stockton’s Wing were a household name in Ireland. In many homes they still are, but sadly the popularity of folk music has declined of late due to the widespread promotion of manufactured cac. Yet every now and then DJs in the know dig out a classic track and it gets some airplay. Often these songs catch on and the public fall in love with them all over again.
Strange Affair is such a song. Every so often it pops up and reminds listeners of just how many great folk standards are out there. In this rendition, Stockton’s Wing play their hit on The Late Late Show. They’ve still got it.
Thank you for the introduction. I am listening to the group on youtube.

They certainly are, and sadly underappreciated.
