Alaric And The Sack Of Rome

Alaric was a leader of the Visigoths, which is a great name for a rock band. He succeeded in sacking Rome in 410 AD. His victory shook the Roman Empire to its very foundations and paved the way for the disintegration of the greatest Empire on the planet at that time. His method of gaining access to the city of Rome is the stuff of legend. He cleverly utilized a variant of the Trojan Horse trick favoured by those wily Greeks. His people eventually settled in the south of France where they practiced football until they won a second World Cup. This is a brief look at his story and meteoric rise to eventually kicking some Roman, and then Croatian, ass.
