Streets Of Fire was released in 1984 as a ‘rock opera’ but was really a rollicking, retro jaunt into an age that never existed. It’s steampunk without the steam and with bikers as punks. It had a great cast including Diane Lane and… nope… sorry… can’t get past Diane Lane, she might have starred in that film alone for all any red-blooded male cares. The soundtrack, including Fire Inc songs, is cracking hot and the entire movie was a stylish endeavour and very under-rated. Rebel Voice has a grá for this cult film.
