In this brief clip we meet Susan Finkbeiner, an evolutionary biologist who doubles as a catwalk model. Nice work if you can get it. Rebel Voice wonders what exactly her scientific male colleagues make of her. After all, in The Big Bang Theory (which of course is based on real life), the lads get all hot and sweaty around beautiful women. Is the delightful Susan a delightful distraction? Do we care? Is that a chauvinist question? Will there be more such females entering into the world of science to teach their male counterparts a thing or two (about science)?
Model Scientist
This is really sad. Susan is more than entitled to be a professional and still do things that make her happy. If she can have a go at being a model, all the best to her. That an Ivy League-educated researcher can have enough versatility to also become a model is fantastic. If male colleagues can’t handle that (and there is no evidence that I can tell that they can’t handle it), that sounds like a them problem.

There appears to be a trend in society to pigeon-hole people, presumably all the better for controlling them. Anyone not conforming to conditioned societal expectations can be condemned and ostracized.
