Citizens are often regaled with the histories of many ancient empires and civilizations. The lives of the Egyptians and Persians are well known. We hear about the Babylonians, and the Celts, the Greeks and the Romans. But in Mesopotamia there was another group that predated all of these. The Sumerians created the ‘Cradle of Civilization’, yet have been overlooked in the history taught to us. This documentary looks at this most important of ancient civilizations, that one that set the standard for the others that followed.
